With Puig on DL, Zack Grienke carries the bat-flipping load for Dodgers

With Dodgers outfielder and prolific bat-flipper Yasiel Puig on the disabled list, someone needs to step up and provide post-hit theatrics.

Nobody expected pitcher Zack Greinke to be that guy, not only because pitchers typically don't appreciate bat flips, but also because pitchers don't typically get hits.

You may have noticed we said "hit" and not "home run." That's because Greinke did a bat flip on a double.

Bless you, Zack Greinke. Bless your bat-flipping heart.

Kris Bryant hits first career home run, returns to empty dugout

Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant entered Saturday's game against the Brewers batting .278 with a .422 OBP and 14 RBIs in just 20 career games — a solid debut for the much-hyped rookie. But he had yet to hit the big one: the first career home run. Now, the wait is over. MORE: Harper hits walk-off, gets showered in chocolate | Pirates turn historic triple play Bryant came to bat in the bottom of the third inning against the Brewers, his team down 2-0, and proceeded to give the Cubs a lead with a three-run shot to left-center. A Bryant boycott did not ensue. And the rookie got his due after a dose of tough love. Welcome to...

Cavs forward Tristan Thompson took Cleveland's Game 3 loss hard after he played great defense on Derrick Rose's game-winning shot. Thompson switched on to Rose after Iman Shumpert was screened by Taj Gibson. Rose pulled up a few feet behind the 3-point line to launch a shot over the outstretched right hand of Thompson, and the ball banked in to give the Bulls a 2-1 series lead. This wasn't the first time this season a buzzer-beater has been made over Thompson. On Nov. 5, Jazz forward Gordon Hayward hit a jumper as time expired to give Utah a 102-100 victory over the Cavs. "Same one (as the Utah shot), but obviously it's on a bigger stag...

Stephen Curry autographs sign reminding Memphis of draft blunder

Now is the time to look away, Grizzlies fans. Do you remember the 2009 NBA Draft? It's the one where the Warriors nabbed Stephen Curry with the seventh pick, while Hasheem Thabeet was the second player to hear his name called on the night. Surely you remember.
