Preakness odds for 13 possible horses

The Preakness is a week away, but that doesn't mean you have to wait to get in on the action.

Many Las Vegas and offshore sportsbooks have posted odds for the second jewel of the Triple Crown, and Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah is the betting favorite. Here's a full list of odds from Wynn, via the Louisville Courier-Journal.

The draw for the 140th running of the Preakness will take place Wednesday, which could slightly alter the odds. The field is limited to 14 horses. 

American Pharoah: 2-3

Firing Line: 7-2

Dortmund: 4-1

Carpe Diem: 8-1

Materiality: 10-1

Competitive Edge: 14-1

Danzig Moon: 18-1

Divining Rod: 20-1

Mr. Z: 25-1

Hawks start petition to ban the use of backboards on game-winners

The Hawks are hurting in a big way. After rallying back from a large deficit in Game 3, Paul Pierce had the final say when he banked-in a jump shot over three defenders. With Dodgers outfielder and prolific bat-flipper Yasiel Puig on the disabled list, someone needs to step up and provide post-hit theatrics. Nobody expected pitcher Zack Greinke to be that guy, not only because pitchers typically don't appreciate bat flips, but also because pitchers don't typically get hits.  You may have noticed we said "hit" and not "home run."
